Tour #22 - Vancouver/Great Bear Lodge/Port Hardy/Vancouver (2 Night/3 Day)

Day 1: Vancouver to Great Bear Lodge This tour starts in Vancouver with a transfer to the airport for your 50-minute (approx) flight from Vancouver to Port Hardy. Upon arrival in Port Hardy guests will be transferred to the floatplane terminal from where they will travel to the GREAT BEAR LODGE . The Lodge is located 50 miles from Port Hardy in a beautiful river valley on the central coast of British Columbia - known as the Great Bear Rainforest. The Great Bear Lodge is a unique 5 bedroom floating lodge, its intimate nature will assure a personalized wilderness adventure. The area is one of the best places in the world to observe grizzly bears and many other forms of wildlife including black bears, wolves and bald eagles. After orientation, guests will depart in the late afternoon for a bear viewing tour. Your gracious hosts are experienced wildlife biologists who have many ideal locations and viewing platforms from which you will be viewing the bears. Upon returning to the lodge, dinner is served then overnight at the GREAT BEAR LODGE.
Day 2: Great Bear Lodge Rise early for breakfast before departing for the days bear viewing trip. Your bear viewing sessions will be tailored to the activities of the bears, observing them when they are most active in their chosen habitats. Viewing blinds have been constructed with photographers in mind, providing optimal vantage points to take the perfect photograph. At mid day you will return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon depart back to Port Hardy by floatplane. Overnight in Port Hardy.
Day 3: Port Hardy to Vancouver Transfer to the Port Hardy airport for your return flight to Vancouver. Tour concludes upon arrival at the Vancouver airport.

- Due to the remote and unique location of the Great Bear Lodge; it is subject to extreme weather conditions that may delay or interrupt travel to/from the Lodge. We ask that clients be prepared for such situations and we recommend that clients do not make close outbound travel arrangements from Vancouver directly following a Grizzly Bear Tour.
- To optimize guests enjoyment at Great Bear Lodge, please specify any food allergies at time of reservation.

What to bring & helpful notes:
- Travel to/from the lodge is by small floatplane/boat please keep luggage to a minimum.
- Camera, binoculars, camcorders (tripods are recommended).
- Electricity is available at lodge to recharge batteries, but not for hairdryers.
- Warm clothing (multiple layers, gloves, extra socks etc.).
- Rain gear and rubber boots are available on site.
- Insect repellent.
- Do not use perfumed toiletries.
Tour #22.3 - Vancouver/Great Bear Lodge/Port Hardy/Vancouver (3 Night/4 Day)

Viewing sessions are non-strenuous, requiring our guests only to step into a boat or walk down stairs 50 feet from the van to the viewing blind. . At mid day you will return to the lodge for lunch. Afternoon to explore further and perhaps see other wildlife. Dinner, then Overnight at the GREAT BEAR LODGE.
Day 3: Great Bear Lodge Watch the sunrise then enjoy breakfast before departing for the days bear viewing trip. Your bear viewing sessions will be tailored to the activities of the bears, observing them when they are most active in their chosen habitats. Viewing blinds have been constructed with photographers in mind, providing optimal vantage points to take the perfect photograph. In the afternoon you will return to the lodge for lunch. Then depart back to Port Hardy by floatplane. Overnight in Port Hardy.
Day 4: Port Hardy to Vancouver Transfer to the Port Hardy airport for your return flight to Vancouver. Tour concludes upon arrival at the Vancouver airport.

Your bear viewing sessions will be tailored to the activities of the bears, observing them when they are most active in their chosen habitats. In the afternoon depart back to Port Hardy by floatplane. Overnight in Port Hardy.
Day 5: Port Hardy to Vancouver Transfer to the Port Hardy airport for your return flight to Vancouver. Tour concludes upon arrival at the Vancouver airport.
